REDDING, Calif. - The Red Hawks women's soccer squad put in a solid defensive shift but were unable to topple #25 Warriors, as they lost 2-0.
With a playoff spot secured, the senior night game against Westcliff served as a proper sendoff for Simpson's seniors.
Iris van Dalfsen started the game between the posts once more, as she had a great game, making 13 saves on 15 shots faced.
The Red Hawks were able to keep Westcliff away until a 45th minute goal right before half put the Warriors ahead. Westcliff's Amylette Lopez found herself in space before taking a shot that had too much power for Dalfsen as it found the back of the net for a 1-0 Warrior lead.
The second half started with much of the same, as some scrappy defense stiffled Simpson's attackers and allowed Lauren Lizaragga to get a shot off, which found the bottom left corner.
Simpson heads to the playoffs for a first-round matchup against Stanton University, whom they managed to get the better of this season already.
