REDDING, Calif. - The Simpson seniors were celebrated as they graced the pitch at home for the last time.  

Simpson hoped to push aside the woes from Thursday, when they lost 3-0 to Stanton University, but they tumbled to a 6-1 defeat against the Westcliff University Warriors. 

The Red Hawks played some stellar defense early in the game, as it was 0-0 in the 44th minute. Westcliff were the team on the front foot, pushing for an opener. 

A corner kick in the 45th minute was enough for a first goal for the Warriors, as Jeremi Kwiatkowski hit the ball on the volley, ramming it into the back of the net to put the Warriors on the board. 

Coming out of the half, the Warriors played aggressively, which was evident as the Red Hawks conceded in just the 56th minute, as Adi Vaknin hammered it in the back of Jacope Trolese's net to extend their lead. 

Simpson had nothing to say about it, as the Warriors kept pushing. Vaknin connected with a through ball before gently chipping Trolese for his second goal to give Westcliff the commanding 3-0 lead.  

A goal from Jose Urdiano Morales, Westcliff's third in nine minutes, put the Warriors up by four. 

As the Red Hawks seemed resigned to their fate, Dylan Sides pulled back a through ball into the feet of Jonathen Garcia Virgen, who slotted it home for Simpson's first goal to get the Red Hawks on the board. 

Vaknin completed the hat-trick as he shuffled around the defense before slotting it in the bottom right corner. 

Iran's Ismael Shafi put the Warriors up 6-1 in the closing moments of the game. 

Simpson heads to the playoffs with a clash against the Stanton University Elks awaiting them. They struggled against them this season and will need to come ready for battle as they hope to make the conference finals.
