PALO CEDRO, California. - The Red Hawks football squad had a big day today as they celebrated nine seniors in its homecoming game to conclude its final home game of the 2025 season. 

Before the game, Simpson honored Kasey Mena, Shaquille Brookins, Avian Pesina, Ezekiel Anderson, Andre Nice, Pierre Normandie, Jonah Lopez, Trevor Thomas, and Irshad Lagarde. 

As the heavy rains poured onto the field, the Red Hawks' defense forced back-to-back three-and-outs to hold the Bulldogs' offense to four yards to begin the game. 

However, the weather played a factor as the Red Hawks' punter could not handle the snap, as the Bulldogs' special teams unit made a huge tackle for loss.

Montana Western broke through on its third possession of the game on an exclusive ground attack that found the end zone in six plays to take the 7-0 lead following a good extra point. 

But the Bulldogs found their stride as they scored 34 unanswered points to close out the first half. 

Montana Western padded its lead in the third quarter as they posted 21 points on two touchdown scoring drives and a defensive touchdown.

Simpson notched its lone takeaway of the game in the fourth quarter as the Bulldogs threatened in the red zone before defensive back Bryan Carson snagged his first interception of the season to stall the Bulldogs' drive. 

Montana Western found the end zone one more time as they closed out the 65-0 victory. 

Joshua De La Cruz Jr. had a big game as he led the Simpson defense with 11 total tackles, including 0.5 a sack. 

Simpson looks to hit the road as they take on Eastern Oregon on Saturday at 2 pm in La Grande, OR.
