GARDEN GROVE, Calif. - The Red Hawks concluded their SoCal road trip with a 4-1 loss to Stanton University (RV). 

With their record now at 0-9-2, and 0-3-1 for conference play, Simpson has an uphill battle as they return home this weekend to face Cal Maritime, who caused an upset against them earlier this month. 

In a game which was dominated by the home side, the Elks managed 16 shots to Simpson's one. 

In the 12th minute, Daniel Apata Ayensa put the Elks up 1-0. Shortly thereafter, in the 23rd minute, Janik Moller made it 2-0.  

Simpson had little to no answer as they were unable to apply much pressure on the Stanton defense. 

In the second half, Maximiliam Hartbaum scored to make it 3-0 in the 53rd minute 

Simpson got their only shot of the whole game off in the 60th minute, which resulted in the first goal of the season for Javier Guerrero to cut into the Elks' lead. 

The Red Hawks were unable to keep pushing, as Stanton striker Lorenzo Jacon bagged his 6th goal of the season in the 84th minute. 

A total of four yellow cards plagued the game, with both teams tallying two each. 

Simpson will be at home this Thursday as they take on California Maritime Academy in a bid to get their first win of the season.
