ARCATA, Calif. - The men's wrestling squad traveled north today as they took on DII opponent Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata, CA at Lumberjack Arena.
Tomas Jacobo highlighted the men's team as he won his respective 157 lb weight class as he won on a major decision, 8-0.
Tyler Diaz wrestled strong in his 149 lb weight class but ultimately fell in a tightly knitted 8-7 match.
Coming off the Mat Cat Open victory this past weekend,
William Schwertscharf battled valiantly but fell in a 3-2 low-scoring match.
Simpson's final points came in the form of a forfeit by the Lumberjacks in the 184 lb weight class to give Simpson's
Bryant Bartlett a win.
However, the Lumberjacks proved too much as they took down the Red Hawks 39-10 as Jacobo provided the lone win of the night for the Red Hawks.
The Red Hawks look to be back in action as they head to Forrest Grove, OR to take part in the Boxer Open hosted by Pacific University this weekend.
