BUTTE, Calif. - The men's and women's track and field team opened up its season this past weekend as they took part in the Butte Invitational.
The Butte Invitational consisted of various north-state colleges that included Chico State, College of the Redwoods, Sacramento City College, San Joaquin Delta, Shasta College, Yuba City, and College of the Siskiyous.
Coach Hall took his men's and women's throwing crews and allowed Daniel Sumeril and
Injin Lee to participate in their first-ever collegiate experience in the ring.
The team battled hard against some of the North State's best track and field participants, setting the tone for the rest of the year.
Simpson looks to be back in action this weekend at the Shasta Cody Beaumont Invitational hosted by Shasta College depending on the weather.
