REDDING, Calif. - The men's basketball squad bounced back tonight as they took down Stanton University, 89-54.
Timothy Parker owned the first points of the night on a mid-range jumper before the Elks answered back on back-to-back free throws.
In a night filled with three-pointers by the Red Hawks,
Mack Tarver Jr. owned the first three-ball of the night to give Simpson a lead that they never surrendered.
This cued a 19-4 run that included threes from
Kellen Torrey,
Drey Ubas, and
Trey Conrad and buckets from
Jace Mills,
Derek Gorden, and
Timothy Parker.
The Red Hawks had a dominant first half as they held the commanding 51-19 lead by displaying outstanding shooting from the floor.
Simpson shot 50% from the floor and an astounding 53% from beyond the arc in the first half.
Gorden, Conrad, and Torrey notched a team-high nine points each in the first half as they combined to go 10-13 from the floor.


Simpson continued its sharpshooting in the second half as Gorden drained a three-pointer to start the second half scoring.
Conrad proved to be on fire as he drilled three straight three-pointers within a two-minute span to extend Simpson's lead to 35 points.
Senior
Pablo Correa capped off the three-point fiesta with just under two minutes to play as Simpson went on to take the 89-54 victory.
Simpson had a bounce-back dominant performance as they only trailed once in the opening minutes.
The Red Hawks had an outstanding shooting performance as they shot 41.6% from the floor and 44.7% from the three.
Trey Conrad had a huge game off the bench as he notched a team-high 18 points as he went 6-8 from beyond the arc.
Derek Gorden,
Mack Tarver Jr., and
Kellen Torrey recorded 12 points each. Torrey could not miss as he posted a perfect game shooting as he went 4-4 from beyond the arc.
Every Red Hawk contributed as every active player recorded points as Simpson's bench outscored the Elk's bench 51-8.
The Red Hawks look to be back in action on December 16th against Mount Vernon Nazarene University at home at 3 pm.
