REDDING, Calif. - The women's basketball squad continued to stay hot as they took down California Tribal College this afternoon, 65-53.
With the win, Simpson has now won three straight games to improve to 4-1 on the year under first-year Head Coach, Anthony Taylor.
The first points for Simpson belonged to Senior forward
Tessa Kinney as she drilled a three-pointer followed by another three-ball by
Zara Dumatol as Simpson took its first lead of the game 6-3.
Simpson doubled up the Lady Eagles as they held the 20-10 lead while Kinney had a team-high six points in the first quarter as she remained perfect 2-2 from the field with two three-pointers.
Nikki Thompson converted on a layup in the paint to begin the second quarter as Simpson extended its lead to 22-10.

California Tribal pulled within four points but the Red Hawks grew its largest lead of the game to 16 points after
Natalie Brown hit a layup for her first points of the night.
The Red Hawks continued to roll in the second half as
Anna Marshall drilled a three-pointer to open the third quarter.
Simpson held total control as they never lost its double-digit lead to the Lady Eagles in the third quarter as
Zara Dumatol drilled a three-pointer to extend Simpson's lead to 16 as they entered the fourth quarter with a 52-36 lead.
California Tribal fought back but could not overcome the deficit as Simpson took the game 65-53 to extend its win streak and sweep its two-game home stand.
Anna Marshall and
Tessa Kinney both recorded a double-double.
Marshall notched a team-high 15 points and 16 rebounds while Kinney posted 10 points to go along with 11 boards.
Nikki Thompson had a share of the team-high in points as she picked up 15 points while going a perfect 7-7 from the line.
Simpson looks to be back in action this coming weekend as they take part in the College of Idaho Classic.
