REDDING, Calif. - The women's volleyball squad concluded this year's Cal Pac Jamboree tonight in the tournament's final match against Providence Christian College.
The Red Hawks are coming off two wins on day one against La Sierra and Westcliff.
The Sea Beggars drew first blood and held the early lead for much of the first set.
Simpson reeled off four straight points on two kills by
Mariah Napoleon and a block by
Dani Rydjord to tie the game at 16.
The Red Hawks grabbed the one-point lead late in the first set with kills by
Katie Graham and
Kare Ann Oshiro to grab the 21-20 lead.
However, the Sea Beggars went on a 5-1 run to close out the first set victory 25-22.
The Red Hawks looked to answer back in set two as a kill by Graham put Simpson on the board first in the second set.
With the game tied at 11, Simpson created some breathing room as they scored four unanswered points on an ace by
Kiahla Granger and kills by
Tiara Manns and
Mariah Napoleon to grab the 16-11 lead.
A kill by
Mallory Swenson followed by a set-clinching tandem block by Graham and Manns gave Simpson the 25-20 second set victory.
Sets three and four saw the Red Hawks and Sea Beggars exchange rallies back and forth in two highly intense sets.

Simpson grabbed the 10-4 lead on a kill by Napoleon and a duo block from Rydjord and Napoleon.
A kill by Oshiro gave Simpson the commanding 20-14 lead before the Sea Beggars came roaring back.
Providence went on a 7-1 run to tie the game at 21 before going on a 5-1 run to close out the second set 25-22.
Providence Christian kept it rolling as the fourth set proved to be all Sea Beggars as they took a commanding 23-16 lead.
But the Red Hawks did not go quietly as they reeled off six straight points to pull within one on an ace by Tataryn Mackenzie and kills by Graham and Manns.
Facing match point, Simpson tied the game at 24 on a kill by
Abigail Shackelford and a block by Graham and Napoleon.
However, the Sea Beggars prevailed and scored two straight points to take the fourth set 26-24 to take the match in four sets.
Mariah Napoleon and
Katie Graham had a team-high 12 kills each as they combined for six total blocks.
Abigail Shackelford and Tataryn Mackenzie combined for a big night at the setter position as they combined for 41 assists and 11 digs.
Madison Kammuller had herself a night on defense as she had a team-high 30 digs.
Simpson rounds out the Jamboree going 2-1 as they sit tied for second place with Providence and one game behind UC Merced for the top spot.
The Red Hawks look to clash with UC Merced this week Friday on the road at 6 pm in a pivotal conference matchup.
