PALO CEDRO, Calif. - The men's soccer squad wrapped up the 2024 season today as they took on Pacific Union College this afternoon.
The Red Hawks had its senior ceremonies before the game as they honored
Eric Canela,
Christian Valdez,
Jesus Morales-Bonilla,
Michel Hampe, and
Gio De La Torre.
However, the Pioneers grabbed the early lead as they scored in the 6th minute.
But the Pioneers added insurance goals in the 20th and 30th minutes to take the commanding 3-0 lead going into the half.
The Pioneers outshot the Red Hawks 5-2 as senior goalkeeper
Eric Canela notched two saves in the first half.
The Red Hawks looked to mount a comeback in the second half as they outshot the Pioneers 6-4 but were not able to find the back of the net.




Pacific Union countered as they scored two more goals in the second half to take the 5-0 victory.

Eric Canela picked up the tough loss as he notched three saves in his final game in the post.
Simpson ends the season going 2-8-1 and 1-5-1 in conference play under second-year Head Coach Gary Weaver.
But the Red Hawks look to be a force next year as they are set to return key players for the upcoming 2025 season.
