Simpson falls on the road to #15 Montana Tech

BUTTE, Mont. - The Red Hawks football squad took on future Frontier Conference opponent and #15 in the nation Montana Tech today at Alumni Coliseum in Butte, MT.

The Orediggers got off to a fast start as they returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown on an 89-yard fake reverse.

But the Orediggers offense fired on all cylinders as they scored on its first six drives of the game to claim the commanding 43-0 lead after one quarter of play.

After the Orediggers scored on its first two drives of the second quarter the Red Hawks defense picked up its first stop of the game.

The Red Hawk defense stalled the Orediggers offense in the red zone as they forced back-to-back incompletions to force a field goal.

But the Orediggers lethal offense could not be stopped as they showed why they are one of the nation's premier teams as they scored on all 13 of its drives to topple Simpson 97-0.

Running back Mikah Kindell displayed true grit as he pounded out 35 tough-earned yards on the ground to go along with one reception for 14 yards.

Jeremiah Prinz proved to be a tackling machine as he notched 10 tackles on the day.

Simpson looks to bounce back this week as they hit the road to take on Eastern Oregon this Saturday at 1 pm.
