Dalfsen picks up the haul as Red Hawks rout the Keelhaulers

VALLEJO, Calif. - The Simpson University women's team picked up a huge win tonight against Cal Maritime, 13-0. 

Iris Van Dalfsen picked up her first goal of the night in the fifth minute of a pass from Kayla Arias-Lerma to give Simpson the early lead. 

Chloe Tague added an insurance goal in the 15th minute off a pass from Dalfsen to extend Simpson's lead. 

But the Red Hawks struck three times within five minutes as Dalfsen picked up her second and third goals of the night in the 23rd and 24th minutes. 

Alyssa Trevino completed the trio of goals as she converted her penalty kick in the 26th minute to make it a 5-0 game. 

Grace Nelson rounded out the first half with her first goal of the year in the waning seconds off a pass from Chloe Tague

The trio of seniors padded Simpsons lead to open the second half as Izabella Baez scored in the 50th minute, Lerma in the 58th minute, and Kylie Hokanson in the 65th minute to make it a 9-0 game. 

Simpson played stellar defense as they allowed its first shot of the night in the 67th minute as goalkeeper Kiah Gridley notched her lone save of the night. 

Litsy Munoz and Denise Elias-Martinez jumped into the scoring as they each added a goal in the 68th and 79th minute. 

Trevino completed the brace as she notched her second goal of the night in the 84th minute. 

On the other hand, Dalfsen picked up the haul as she notched her fourth goal of the night in the final seconds to cap off the 13-0 victory. 

With the win, Simpson is in sole possession of fourth place as they trail UC Merced and Westcliff by 1.5 games. 

Simpson looks to stay hot as they host Soka on Sunday for its senior day.
