REDDING, Calif. - The women's team continued conference play tonight as they took on Pacific Union College.
The Red Hawks are coming off a loss to UC Merced last night as they bounced back tonight by taking down the Pioneers in straight sets.
Simpson jumped out to the early 8-4 lead on an ace by
Mackenzie Tataryn and a pair of kills by

With the score tied at 13, the Red Hawks reeled off seven straight points to take the commanding 20-13 lead and forced a Pioneer timeout.
Napoleon picked up two kills, Tataryn picked up her second ace of the night, and Graham picked up a solo block.
The Pioneers made it interesting as they pulled within three points late in the first set. But the Red Hawks prevailed and scored four straight points.
Capped off by a tandem block by
Dani Rydjord and
Tiara Manns to give Simpson the 25-18 first-set victory.
A kill by Graham got Simpson on the board first in the second set before the Pioneers took the early 4-1 lead.
But Simpson proved too much as they dominated the second set as they outscored the Pioneers 24-11 to take the 2-0 match lead.
In the second set, Napoleon picked up three aces, Graham, Manns, and
Mallory Swenson combined for seven kills, and libero
Madison Kammuller picked up a unique kick save kill.

But the Pioneers did not go quietly as they held the commanding 19-13 lead late in the third set.
However, the Red Hawks refused to be denied a straight-set victory as they went on a 10-1 run to take the 23-20 lead.
Swenson highlighted the comeback with three kills and one block.
The final swing of the night belonged to Napoleon as she notched her 11th kill of the night to cap off the straight-set victory.
Mariah Napoleon had a night as she had 11 kills to go along with a .292 hitting percentage while recording three aces.
The trio of setters,
Sierra Murphy,
Mackenzie Tataryn, and

The women's squad is rolling as they have won 7 out of the last 10 games and are in sole possession of third place in the Cal Pac standings.
They look to stay hot as they hit the road this week to SoCal to take on Westcliff (Thursday), La Sierra (Friday), and Providence (Saturday).
