CALDWELL, Ida. - This year Simpson had an individual earn a spot at the National Competition in Vancouver, WA.
Abigail Oosterhout took 5th place at the conference and was the second fastest individual apart from the winning team's top-three runners.
Simpson has not sent anyone to nationals in nearly a decade for cross-country, making the accomplishments even more exciting.
This year's course was a challenge for all competitors with the difficult terrain of the Pacific Northwest.
With over 300 of the best competitors over the nation's top NAIA schools, Oosterhout placed 239th out of 331 runners.
This placed her in the neighborhood of the top two-thirds of the race. She finishes her season with a 6k time of 24.50.
