REDDING, Calif. - Simpson's women's soccer team continues to roll as they picked up its fourth straight win as they stand a perfect 4-0 in conference play.
Simpson was able to hold off the Westcliff comeback to go on and win by the score of 2-1.
Junior
Morgan Durazo got Simpson on the board first in the 4th minute of play as her second effort goal found the back of the net.
A Warrior mishap allowed Durazo to take advantage of the loose ball in the box.
Durazo struck again in the 59th minute to complete the brace on a penalty kick as she was aided by a key yellow card by the Warrior's defense.
The Red Hawks seemed to be in control as they held a two-point lead with just over 30 minutes left.
But the Warriors fought back as they broke through in the 77th minute on a header that found the back of the net on a free kick aided by a Simpson yellow card.
However, Simpson was able to hold off the Warrior rally as they closed out its fourth straight win.
Goalkeeper
Kiah Gridley earned the win to improve her conference record to 3-0. Gridley has been outstanding thus far as she allowed her first goal in conference play.
The Red Hawks will look to stay hot as they travel down to Arizona to take on Park University this Friday at 6 PM.
