Simpson Loses Two Games to Embry-Riddle, Rain Postpones Series

REDDING, Calif. - The Red Hawks' winless streak in the conference continues as they lose the series to Embry-Riddle.

Simpson was slated to play four games against Embry-Riddle, but the final two games were postponed due to the rain in Redding.

The Red Hawks were shut out in the first game against Embry-Riddle, having only three hits in the game. Jessica Ulshoeffer pitched six innings, only giving up one earned run. In the 7th inning, the Red Hawks gave up five unearned runs due to multiple errors. Embry Riddle beat Simpson 9-0.

In the second game, Simpson was down 5-0 going into the sixth inning. They put their first run on the board from a fielder's choice and error by the catcher scoring Jeslyn Svejda. Kassandra Soria singled, knocking in two runs to make the score 5-3. In the bottom of the seventh, Chloe Garcia hit a solo home run. Amy Legrande and Samantha Diaz both hit doubles, closing Embry-Riddles lead to one. Unfortunately, Simpson came up short of a comeback losing 7-6.

SU will travel to Irvine, CA, to play Westcliff on Friday, March 24th, to start the four-game series.
