REDDING, Calif. - Last night, Simpson U men's basketball game against Westcliff University was canceled after Simpson's Kevin Robello collapsed on the court.

Kevin collapsed after taking an elbow to the head. He was taken to the emergency room. He spent the evening at the hospital surrounded by his family and teammates. 

Kevin was released this morning and is recovering with his family.

Simpson University is grateful for the trainers, coaching staff, and emergency responders that helped to give the best possible outcome.

"The whole Simpson community is praying hard for Kevin to make a full recovery," Simpson Athletic Director Rob Harley says, "We take the safety of our athletes as the number one priority and right now our hearts remain with Kevin and his family."

The game was canceled and both teams gathered around the center circle to pray for Kevin.
