CHICO, Calif. - The women's basketball team took on D2 opponent Chico State University last night at Art Acker Gym in Chico, CA.
The Red Hawks played well against the Wildcats as they were missing its usual two starters but ultimately fell 42-72.
Rachel Gafford led the Red Hawks with a team-high 15 points while shooting 6-11 from the floor.
Natalie Brown had another strong game off the bench as she registered seven points with four rebounds.
The Wildcats flexed it's muscles for much of the game.
However, the Red Hawks would match the Wildcats in the third quarter with eleven points.
Simpson also matched the Wildcats with 26 points in the paint and trailed close behind with 18 bench points compared to Chico State's 19 for the game.
This proved to be a solid opportunity for other Red Hawks to get ready for Lincoln University this Friday as every player got an opportunity to play.
Simpson will hit the road to take on Lincoln University this Friday.
