CALDWELL, Id. - The women's basketball team continued play in the College of Idaho Invite against Eastern Oregon University today.
However, the Mountaineers were able to best the Red Hawks 71-41.
Eastern Oregon came out of the gate blazing as they jumped out to an early 11-0 lead.
Rachel Gafford broke the EOU run with a mid-range jumper that put Simpson on the board.
The second period of play was a defensive battle as both teams combined for six points.
Simpson's strong defensive play helped limit the Mountaineers to just four points on two buckets.
But EOU would go into the half with a 28-17 lead.
The Mountaineers proved too much as they outscored Simpson in the second half 43-24 to secure the win.

Anna Marshall continued to stay hot as they both recorded double-digit points in the game for a combined 22 points on the day.
Kayla Morgan had a big game in the paint as she recorded seven boards.
With the the loss, Simpson concluded its non-conference schedule and finished the College of Idaho Invite going 1-1 against tough Cascade Conference opponents.
The Red Hawks will use the next couple of weeks to prepare for its conference opener at home against Embry-Riddle University on November 30th at 5:30 PM.
