REDDING, Calif. - The women's soccer team battled Providence Christian Saturday night at the California Soccer Park.
The women's team continued to stay hot as they picked up its second win of the week in as many days by defeating PCC 4-1.
It was all Simpson from the get-go as the Red Hawks got on the board in the 10th minute when
Monserrath Bedolla-Guzman scored her second goal of the season.
Morgan Durazo was credited with the assist as she put up a nice ball for Guzman to head into the back of the net.
Sophomore
Chloe Tague got in on the action in the 27th minute when she scored her eighth goal of the season to put SU up 2-0.
Less than one minute later senior
Ashley Horan scored her first goal of the year with the help of Tague.
The Red Hawks had an impressive showing in the first half as they held a commanding 3-0 lead as they outshot the Sea Beggars 17-0.
However, the Sea Beggars scratched one on the board in the 57th minute when they converted on a penalty kick.
Tague struck again late in the 76th minute to complete the brace with the help of
Alyssa Trevino.
With the win, Simpson is now slated in third place in the Cal Pac standings with three conference games left.
Simpson will hit the road this Friday to take on Soka University at the "Lion's Den" at 5 PM.
