VALLEJO, Calif. - Simpson women's basketball recorded its third consecutive victory Saturday night, thrashing Cal Maritime, 83-60.
The win puts SU at 3-4 in conference play and firmly in the playoff hunt with just a few weeks remaining.
Breesia Northern was the dominant player in the Red Hawk uniform, scoring 18 points, while tallying five assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
Kayla Gairns added 13 points,
Sandra Berrocal finished with 10,
Ellie Hamel added 14 off the bench, and
Kayla Bonomini tallied 10.
Tymiko Patterson was outstanding for the Red Hawks filling up the stat sheet and leading Simpson in rebounds with eight and assists with seven.
Defensively, SU held Cal Maritime to just 36 percent shooting from the field and outrebounded the Keelhaulers 39-31.
Simpson will look to continue its winning streak this Thursday in Encinitas against the University of Saint Katherine. Tip-off is set for 5:30 PM.
