REDDING, Calif. - Simpson women's softball began its season this weekend against 5th ranked Southern Oregon with games one and two in Ashland and games three and four in Redding.
SOU were able to take games one, two and three, 3-2, 9-1, 3-0 respectively, but Simpson won game four on a walk-off hit.
The Red Hawks came into the bottom of the 7th inning down two runs and were able to rally for three runs to record the win and avoid the series sweep.
Chloe Garcia recorded a clutch two-run homerun that evened the score before
Marissa Ramirez drove in the game's winning run to walk-off in game four.
Simpson will be back at home on Wednesday, February 9th for a doubleheader against Bushnell University at the Simpson Softball Field with first pitch set for 12 PM.
