REDDING, Calif. - Simpson U women's basketball just completed something never done before in program history: completing the Arizona trio unscathed, 3-0.
The historically tough task was completed Sunday afternoon when the Red Hawks beat Embry-Riddle, 68-57, once again after an impressive 4th quarter performance.
Celina Tress led SU in scoring with 17 points and eight rebounds, while
Livi Lindsey notched a double-double finishing with 13 points and 11 boards. Defensively, Simpson locked the Eagles down, holding them to a 25.6 percent shooting clip from the field including a 4th quarter where Embry-Riddle shot under 20 percent.
Nikki Thompson and
Tymiko Patterson also got in double figures for the Red Hawks combining for 23 points.
The Red Hawks improve to 4-0 in conference play and currently sit atop the Cal Pac alone in first place. They head on the road this weekend to face Westcliff University and St. Katherine in a pair of key matchups.
Thursday's contest is set for 7:30 PM against Westcliff University in Irvine, Calif.
