Men's Basketball Suffers Loss to Hot-Shooting Embry-Riddle

Box Score REDDING, Calif. - Simpson men's basketball fell to Embry-Riddle on Sunday afternoon, 83-62.

Embry-Riddle jumped out to an early start with a red-hot shooting performance of 57 percent from the field and took a 45-21 lead into the first half. The Eagles were also impressive from beyond the arc, knocking down 40 percent of their three-pointers.

"We have to give Embry-Riddle credit for shooting 57, 40, 72 percent for the game," Coach Todd Franklin said.

Simpson was unable to find its stride shooting the ball with an off-shooting night from three-point range connecting on just three on the afternoon.

Javonntie Jackson led SU with 18 points on an efficient 7-8 and Aaron Burt added 13 points in 24 minutes.

Simpson is currently 2-2 in conference play sitting in 5th place so far, having played more games than any other team so far.

The Red Hawks look to rebound with a two-game road trip where they will face Westcliff and Saint Katherine on Thursday and Saturday.
