PRESCOTT, Ariz. - Simpson University women's basketball tallied its first conference win of the season Saturday night beating Embry-Riddle 57-54.

Before this weekend's win, the Red Hawks had lost seven straight contests against the Eagles and relied heavily on their defensive effort to pick up the win.

SU held ERAU to just 33 percent from the field for 40 minutes and recorded the comeback victory after trailing by seven with six minutes to go in the 4th quarter.

Sandra Berrocal led Simpson in scoring with 14 points and was the only Red Hawk in double figures, but the scoring was distributed evenly as 10 different players got in the box score.

The Red Hawks will look to make it back-to-back wins when they host PUC this Thursday, Feb. 3rd with a 5:30 PM tip-off.
