REDDING. Calif. - The Women's Basketball Team faced off against the 0-2 La Sierra Eagles in their second conference game. Despite leading the Eagles in scoring for two of the four quarters, the Red Hawks could not hang on towards the end of the game and ended up coming up short, losing to La Sierra 54-42.
The women showed up ready to play, outshooting La Sierra in every category to start the first quarter. The Simpson Women's Basketball Team started out the game strong, taking the lead early in the first quarter. Starting the second quarter, the Red Hawks led the Eagles by five.
However, in the second half of the game, La Sierra would begin to make a comeback. To start the third quarter, both teams wouldn't score for the first three minutes, but eventually La Sierra would take the lead. Simpson would only score five points the entire third quarter.Â
Sandra Berrocal would lead the Red Hawks in scoring and rebounds. Berrocal would finish with 15 points and nine rebounds.
Tymiko Patterson would also finish in the double digits, ending the night with 10 points.Â
