Men's Soccer Falls In Close Game With NCAA Opponent Humboldt State

ARCATA, Calif. - The Red Hawks traveled to Arcata on Friday to face NCAA Division II opponent, the Humboldt State Lumberjacks, falling 1-0.

HSU scored its lone goal in the second half with just under 22 minutes left to play. Marco Silveira was credited with the goal, assisted by Nicolas Herrera-Land.

For the Red Hawks, Daniel Moreales was able to keep the Lumberjacks out of the net for much of the game. He recorded 14 saves, a season high.

The previous game between the two teams came in 2019, where the Red Hawks fell by four.

This time, they were able to stay within one, showing the improvement and ability to hang with a Division II team.

Simpson's next game is September 20th, at noon, at William Jessup.
