REDDING, Calif. - Despite a good crowd intact at the Simpson Soccer Field, the Red Hawks fell to their former conference rivals, William Jessup, 4-1.
The Warriors got off to a hot start netting three goals in the first half, two that were assisted by Lauren McDougal. But Simpson was able to find some rhythm in attack in the second half as
Carolina Oropeza scored her second goal of the season.
Haylee Ward was given the assist, her second of the season.
In goal,
Kiah Gridley was able to stop the onslaught of shots by WJU recording 11 saves for the match, her first in double digits this season.
The Red Hawks tough non-conference schedule continues as SU hosts NCAA DII Academy of Art University next Monday, Sept. 20th for a 4 PM kickoff.
