KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. - Simpson University women's volleyball fell to Oregon Tech Friday night in three sets, 25-17, 25-6, 25-20.

In sets one and three the Red Hawks were a few plays away from taking sets from one of the best teams in the Cascade Conference.

"Tonight, we faced another good non-conference opponent who attacked us much differently than yesterday," Head Coach Mike Haworth says, "Our defense tonight stood out with Tiana Nihipali and Maddie Adams leading the way. We made too many unforced errors to win."

Adams and Nihipali combined for 25 digs and helped keep the match close on many occasions. Welpott led the Simpson attack with seven kills and Kayla Somontan finished with 11 assists.

SU will regroup and prepare for the William Jessup tournament where they will face Oregon Tech, Bushnell University, SOU, and Menlo College. The tournament begins Friday at 9 am in Rocklin, CA.
