ANGWIN, Calif. - Simpson women's soccer qualifies for the Cal Pac tournament for the first time since 2010 after beating PUC 6-1 last week.
Caroline Forseth scored twice for the Red Hawks in the first 25 minutes as Oropeza, De Pablos, Hernandez and Horan all found the net in the six-goal victory.
The Red Hawks are the three-seed in the four-seed tournament and SU will face the top seed in the Cal Pac South division, La Sierra next Friday, at 4 PM.
The winner of the semi-final match will play the winner of UC Merced and Saint Katherine in the conference championship match.
This has been a historic season for Simpson women's soccer after nearly a decade of missing the playoffs, the Red Hawks have their first winning record and playoff appearance since 2010.
