PASADENA, Calif. - Simpson University baseball made program history this weekend by clinching playoff berth for the first time in 10 years.
The Red Hawks' magic number was 2 heading into the weekend and Simpson took two out of three from Providence Christian 7-9, 27-11, 13-1.
Simpson's bats came alive in the series averaging over 15 runs per game in the series including a 27-run game two.Â
The 27 runs were the most runs scored in a game in Simpson baseball history and the run differential of 16 was also largest in program history.
With the series win, the Red Hawks locked up a playoff spot in the upcoming Cal Pac Conference Tournament.
Simpson will host William Jessup for a doubleheader at home on Tuesday, April 20th with a 4 PM first pitch.
