SANTEE, Calif. - Simpson University softball split a two-game series with San Diego Christian on Monday, 2-0, 6-4.

Game one was a defensive battle with only seven hits between the two teams. The Red Hawk's two runs came in the second inning off two bases-loaded walks that were the only runs in the game.

Sydney Moorhead spun a gem for Simpson recording the complete-game shutout, scattering four hits and striking out eight batters.

In game two, San Diego Christian quickly got their offense going scoring six runs in the first two innings taking an early lead.

It wasn't until the sixth inning would Simpson's offense get on the board, but the comeback would come too late evening the series.
Mia Olvera and
Meridian Enriquez both finished the day with three hits and combined for five RBIs as the top of the Simpson lineup shined in SoCal.

The Red Hawks will continue their road trip against Vanguard for a doubleheader beginning at noon.
