REDDING, Calif. - On a Sunday matinee doubleheader, the Red Hawks were locked in from the first rally sweeping the Pacific Union Pioneers in two straight matches.

In match one the Simpson U defeated PUC 25-16, 25-13, 25-21 and finished the match with a .268 attack percentage. 

Kendall Welpott and Ashley Collins both notched 12 kills each in match one leading the Red Hawks while Emily Hansen recorded 38 assists helping lead SU to a dominating victory.

In match two, Kendall Welpott shined again leading SU with 10 kills and 11 digs as Madison Stouder who was in at setter for most of the match tallied 32 assists for the Red Hawks.

Simpson picked up its first two wins of the season and starts off conference play 2-0 after the sweep of PUC and will face Fresno Pacific University this Wednesday in Fresno before returning to Cal Pac play this weekend.
