REDDING, CA - Simpson softball dominated in a two-game series with Bushnell University, 8-0, 10-2.
The Red Hawks' ace got the ball in game one and delivered.
Sydney Moorhead went six innings, striking out nine batters, and only allowing two hits in the impressive performance.Â
Simpson's bats backed her up with 11 hits, three of them doubles and an onslaught of an offensive performance.
Cailey Rizzardo stays hot at the plate going 3-3 with two runs scored and
Ashley Miller recorded four RBIs in a three-hit showing.
Game two was more of the same for SU as they struck for eight runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Mia Olvera led off for the Red Hawks with a solo home run and then later in the same inning, cleared the wall with a two-run home run.Â
That was all the cushion the Simpson pitching staff needed as
Brooke Blades and
Sunshine Wehunt combined performance put the Red Hawks back at .500 for the season.
SU will be back on the diamond this weekend hosting William Jessup and Southern Oregon University in the Simpson Round Robin beginning on Saturday, Feb. 13th at 10 am.
