CALDWELL, ID - Over the weekend, the Women's Basketball Team traveled to Caldwell, Idaho to compete in the College of Idaho Classic, falling to Eastern Oregon and the College of Idaho.
On Friday, the Red Hawks faced off with the the Mountaineers from Eastern Oregon.
Simpson struggled to find its rhythm in the first half, trailing Eastern Oregon, 25-10 heading into halftime.
But the Red Hawks came out of the break with a new fire, winning the third quarter by two points and only trailing in the first quarter by two.
Their field goal percentage improved from the second quarter to the third by over 37 percent, and jumped another 18 percent in the fourth quarter.
The late efforts weren't enough to top EOU.
Sandra Berrocal led the Red Hawks with 14 points, three rebounds and one block.
Breesia Northern had 13 points, three rebounds, one steal and one block.
On Saturday, Simpson took on the College of Idaho.
The Red Hawks kept pace with the Coyotes, winning the first quarter by two and keeping the rest of the game within single digits.Â
Even with Simpson outshooting the College of Idaho from beyond the arc and from the line, SU was unable to pull off the win.Â
Tymiko Patterson tallied 12 points, nine rebounds and one steal.
Sandra Berrocal put up nine points with four rebounds and
Kelsie Graf had eight points with two rebounds.Â
Simpson will play next at Pacific Union on December 5th at 3 PM.Â
