Box Score 2 KLAMATH FALLS & ASHLAND, OR. - The Women's Basketball Team traveled north this past weekend to compete in the OIT Crossover Tournament, unable to get the win in either game.
On Friday, Simpson was in Klamath Falls taking on Oregon Tech.
The Red Hawks struggled to find their rhythm until the fourth quarter. However, their last efforts weren't enough to bring them the victory, ultimately falling to the Owls, 83-37.
Tymiko Patterson led the scoring for SU with eight points, followed by
Kayla Bonomini with seven and
Kayla Morgan with six.
Breesia Northern and
Sandra Berrocal also had two steals a piece.
On Saturday, Simpson matched up with Southern Oregon, keeping the game much closer.
At the end of the first quarter, the Red Hawks were only down by one. They controlled the second half and went into halftime with a 37-34 lead.
But SU's first half performance wasn't enough to give them the win, with a final score of 77-67.
Sandra Berrocal and
Breesia Northern led the Red Hawks in scoring with 17 points each, followed by
Kelsie Graf with 11.
Northern also record three steals while Berrocal tallied two.
The Red Hawks will play this weekend in the College of Idaho Classic in Caldwell, ID. They will take on Eastern Oregon on Friday and the College of Idaho on Saturday.
