RIVERSIDE, Calif. - In a low-scoring affair in the first round of the Cal Pac Championships, Simpson women's soccer fell to Marymount, 1-0.
The loss knocks the Red Hawks out of the tournament and ultimately ends the 2021 season. SU was able to hold a talented Mariner team to just one goal despite Marymount being on the front foot a lot of the match recording eight total shots to Simpson's one.
SU's 2021 season will go down as one of the best in program history and continues the momentum from the program's growth and progression under Head Coach,
Milton Carrera's reign.
The Red Hawks finish the season 10-5-2 and broke the records for longest winning streak, most consecutive shutouts, and longest period of time without allowing a goal in program history. Each record proves what a great season it was for Simpson in 2021 and the Red Hawks will look to build on the momentum heading into the offseason and into 2022.
