Mike Haworth, who will enter his 2nd season as the Red Hawks' head women's volleyball coach, announced five newcomers for the 2020 season. It includes transfers Kendel Welptt and Maddie Adams; and freshman Emily Hansen, Sophia Bolivar and Nadia Chera.
Welpott is a transfer from American River College, where she earned First Team All Tournament at the CCCAA State Championships in 2018.Â
Adams, previously at NCAA II Concordia-Portland University, was teammates with Wepott at American River College. During her time at ARC, she also earned First Team All Tournament at the CCCAA State Championships in 2018.
Both Welpott and Adams were teammates of current Simpson volleyball playerÂ
Lily Johnson on the 2018 CCCAA State Champion team at ARC.Â
Incoming freshman Hansen attended Buckingham Charter High School in Vacaville, CA. She was a four year starter as a setter, team captain and earned All Conference honors.Â
Bolivar, from Escondido High School, will look to find time as DS/Libero. While Chera from Rincom Vally Christian High School will look to earn time as a DS.Â
Haworth believes the new additions will increase their chances of earning a spot in the Cal Pac Conference Championships.
