The Simpson baseball team ran its winning streak to five games and moved above .500 for the season with a three-game Cal Pac sweep over Providence Christian this weekend.

Game 1 - Simpson 11, PCC 1 (7 inn)
Damien Awai allowed just one hit and struck out eight on the mound in 6.0 innings of work while the offense exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to conclude the series opener in a run-rule. Leading 4-1 entering the inning, Simpson scored seven times on six hits with Christopher Brue's walkoff RBI double ending the game. Nathan Minami homered in the inning as well and recorded a triple in going 4-4 with 4 RBI in the game. Josh Dilg, Damien Chavez, and Andre Alvarez each had two hits as the Red Hawks pounded out 13 in all.

Game 2 - Simpson 8, PCC 3
Trailing 3-1, Simpson rallied for 4 runs in the 3rd and closed the game on with seven straight runs to conclude a doubleheader sweep on the first day of the series. Payton Edwards singled home the go-ahead run in the third after Sam Nakata tripled in a run and scored to tie the game on a Josh Hernandez base hit. Hernandez finished 3-5 with 2 RBI. Both Nakata and Edwards recorded multiple hits, along with Minami. Andrew Cisneros earned the victory in 6.0 innings of work, and Jackson Bennett and Nick Sanderson closed out the game with 3.0 innings of hitless relief.

Game 3 - Simpson 8, PCC 4
Again, after trailing early, the Red Hawks offense kicked in and pushed SU to the series sweep. Jordan Taylor and Daniel Farfan opened the 4th inning with back-to-back doubles to start a 4-run rally which turned a 3-2 deficit into a 6-3 lead. Alvarez doubled later in the same inning to push across two more runs and help move Simpson to 4-1 in Cal Pac Confernece play. Both Brue and Farfan homered on the day as well.
