BELMONT, Calif. -- Simpson softball took to the road for the first time this season Saturday and notched its seventh straight win with a 4-2 decision at Notre Dame de Namur. The road win comes after the Red Hawks posted six straight victories at home last weekend vs. Eastern Oregon and William Jessup.

Trinity Largy's 2-run triple in the top of the first inning set the stage for SU to knock off its second NCAA DII opponent of the season. An Aubree Aikens RBI double in the third gave SU a 3-1 lead, and Mia Olvera drove in an insurance run in the sixth to secured the win. Sydney Moorhead scattered five hits and struck out seven to earn the win in the circle.

Simpson travels next week to Tucson, Ariz. for the Tucson Invitational to play seven games in four days.
