REDDING, Calif. - Simpson faced off against Providence Christian Friday night, taking down the Sea Beggars in four sets, 18-25, 25-20, 25-15, and 25-23.

The Red Hawks got off to a slow start defensively in set one allowing 15 kills. Head Coach Mike Hayworth made some adjustments to the line-up which, in addition to tough serving, clinched set two for Simpson as Shawna Ogata, Marianne Soria, and Lily Johnson all tallied 2 aces a piece.

Simpson cruised through set three tallying 21 kills and hitting .410 as a team and holding Providence Christian to just .023 hitting in their dominant win. Set four came down to the wire but solid defense from Mariah Chavez and Shawna Ogata along with another 6 kills from Johnson sealed the win for the Red Hawks.

Simpson finished with three hitters in double digit kills as Johnson, Drinkwater, and Collins totaled 19, 11, and 10 kills respectively. Soria and Chavez's combined 35 digs paired with Madison Stouder's 53 assists earned the Red Hawks their first conference win of the season.

In Simpson's next match-up the Red Hawks play host to Antelope Valley September 21st at 7pm in the Grant Center.
