REDDING, Calif. - Two rivals clashed Thursday afternoon on the Simpson Soccer Field, as the SU Red Hawks faced off against William Jessup University.

Simpson returned to the pitch off of a 4-0 shutout loss to Menlo College last week. Jessup struck first as Madison Rojas blasted her shot from outside the box that ricocheted off of the crossbar and into the net. The Warriors took the 1-0 lead into the half even after Simpson had a number of chances for the equalizer.

Shortly after the second half began, Jessup added a second goal to extend their lead to 2-0. Just three minutes later, Caroline Forseth scored a breakaway goal for her fourth goal of the season. The freshman striker continues to be Simpson's vital addition up top.

The Red Hawks fall to 2-2 on the season and will have four days off until they face UC Santa Cruz on the road on September 17th with kickoff set for 11 am.
