RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Because of the rainouts earlier in the season, Simpson had to play its home games against La Sierra on the road in Riverside. The Red Hawks were the home team the first three games of the series, but the Golden Eagles were able to take the series two games to one.

La Sierra dominated game one, tallying 13 hits and ten runs while only allowing the Red Hawks to score once on a Derick Kuhn solo homerun in the 7th inning, his second of the year. Three Eagles pitchers combined to give up just five hits in the 10-1 victory in the season opener.

A six run 3rd inning was a huge proponent in the Red Hawks picking up the game two victory, holding La Sierra off in the late innings, 11-9. Paul Gallegos recorded the victory out of the bullpen, throwing 4.2 innings pitched without giving up a run. Five different Simpson batters tallied two or more hits, led by Sam Nakata who went 3-4 with two runs batted in. Creed Smith knocked in two runs on a big fly in the 5th inning.

The Golden Eagles' hot bats to begin the series finale gave them the boost they needed to take the series win, scoring six runs combined in the first two innings and ultimately beating Simpson, 7-5. The Red Hawks strung together three runs in the first two innings, but couldn't convert on key opportunities.

Simpson slides to 5-10 in conference play with the second half of conference play coming up. The Red Hawks take on La Sierra again, this time as the road team, on March 29th and March 31st.
