REDDING, Calif. - In the final week of the season, Simpson women's volleyball celebrated four seniors and split the two games, winning Thursday's and falling in Friday's match.
Prior to the final home game on Thursday night, seniors Marianne Soria, Daniella Zapata, Mariah Chavez, and Nicole Masciola were honored. To add to the already heartwarming night, the Red Hawks dominated against their opponent, Pacific Union, winning the match, three sets to none. Jessilyn Elenson led both teams in kills with 11, followed by Lily Johnson and Ashley Collins with nine apiece. Ellenson recorded a historic attack percentage of .714 for the match which ranks at the top of the Simpson record books.
Friday night in the final game of the season, the Red Hawks fell to the UC Merced Bobcats in three straight sets.
Simpson improved from last season by one game and showed the potential for coming seasons with an impressive recruiting class in the works for 2020.
