Men's Basketball Falls to OIT

REDDING, Calif. - Simpson men's basketball fell at home on Tuesday night in front of a capacity crowd in the James M. Grant Center to Oregon Tech, 99-49.

The Red Hawks were handicapped by the blindside, that didn't allow starting center and leading rebounder, Harvey Barr to suit up because of a misunderstanding on a flagrant foul- level two.

The first ten minutes of the contest was full of excitement. Simpson began the game with a showtime alley-oop dunk. Both teams traded blows before OIT began to pull away late in the first half and didn't look back.

Christian Alvis-Labadie led the Red Hawks in scoring with a huge boost off the bench and 14 points. Brycen Wight was the only other Simpson player in double figures.

The Red Hawks have run into numerous teams having monster shooting nights. In the loss to Jessup earlier in the season, the Warriors hit 19 threes, against Menlo, the Oaks knocked down 14 threes and tonight OIT connected on 14 threes again.

OIT's Seth Erickson knocked down seven threes himself including five straight in the second half as a huge part of the Hustlin' Owls second half run.

SU will take on a pair of NCAA Division I schools the rest of the week, first Cal Poly on November 15th and then San Jose State on the 17th.
