REDDING, Calif. - Simpson University women's volleyball fell at home Saturday night in five sets to Marymount California University.
The Red Hawks began the match with lots of success winning the first two sets 25-15, 25-22. Simpson would enter the third set looking for a sweep, but the Mariners battled back winning three straight sets, including the fifth set 15-10.
SU received excellent individual performances from
Marianne Soria,
Lily Johnson, and
Madison Stouder. Soria led the Red Hawks in aces with three and digs with 25, while Johnson finished with a career-high 23 kills.
The Red Hawks will steer their focus to the upcoming week as Simpson will face Pacific Union and UC Merced with the chance to get their conference record turned around.
