REDDING, Calif. - La Sierra came out of the gate ready to play and scored two quick goals in the first half that would solidify the 2-1 over Simpson, Saturday afternoon.

Simpson was outshot by nine for the contest and La Sierra's prolific attack kept the Red Hawks defenders on their heels in the first half resulting in goals in the 16th minute and again in the 40th minute.

SU did score a late goal to cut the lead to one, when Richard Molina found the net in the 90th minute, but by that time it was too late.

The Red Hawks remain in the hunt for a Cal Pac playoff spot, but currently sit in 10th place. The top six teams qualify for the playoffs and Simpson is two games out of that sixth slot as it stands today.

Simpson's quest for the playoffs continues when they head on the road to face UC Merced on October 26th at 3 PM.
