TORRANCE, Calif. - Simpson University men's soccer fell on the road Sunday, 2-1 to Marymount California University.
After allowing back to back goals in the first half in the 35th and 39th minute, Simpson settled in defensively not allowing a goal the remainder of the match.
The Red Hawks started getting better chances at goal early in the second half and was able to find the back of the net in the 66th minute after Daniel Rodriguez's cross was headed past the keeper by
Joel Sterling. The goal was Sterling's fifth on the season and was Rodriguez's first assist on the campaign.
Simpson continued to try to record the equalizer in the second half, but were unable falling to the Mariners, 2-1.
SU returns home for a two-game homestand to face Soka Univeristy and La Sierra on October 18th and 20th on the Simpson Soccer Field.
