RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Simpson baseball records a 43-run output for the three game series with La Sierra University and winning the series two games to one.
In game one, the Red Hawks had the lead throughout the early innings, but in the 6th and 7th innings Simpson gave up four runs that they could not overcome ultimately falling, 6-5.
Reynaldo Gomez threw 5.1 innings pitched only giving up two runs in the quality start, but got the no decision in the outing.
Micah Gunther made a case for Cal Pac Pitcher of the Week after a solid seven inning performance, only giving up two runs in the 12-2 victory. Simpson's bats came to life tallying 14 hits in the 12 run explosion as four different Red Hawks finished with two hits or more for the game. Simpson's ten run 5th inning in game two was the first time in program history that the Red Hawks have had a double-digit inning.
Game three included even more offense than game two as Simpson scored 16 unanswered runs in the 6th through the 8th inning to win the rubber game, 26-18. The Red Hawks set another program record for most runs scored in a game.

Thomas Ahlstrom went 5 for 7 with three runs scored and four runs batted in to lead Simpson offensively.
The Red Hawks moves into the 3rd slot in the Cal Pac standings at 6-8 in conference and 12-20 overall and will continue their road trip heading to Arizona for a non-conference series against Ottawa University.
