REDDING, Calif. - Solid starting pitching was the key for the Red Hawks in the series sweep of Providence Christian as they improve their winning streak to four for the first time since 2012. Simpson's defense was spectacular throughout the weekend was flawless with no errors in all three games. It is longest stretch of errorless baseball for the Red Hawks since 2012.
Game 1: W(4-1)
Reynaldo Gomez found himself in the stretch for most of his eight inning outing allowing 13 hits, however was phenomenal with runners on base only allowing one earned run and stranding 13 Sea Beggar baserunners. Simpson scored twice in the 5th and the 6th for its only runs of the game. Alfred Souza came out of the pen in the 9th to record the final three outs of the contest.

Game 2: W(13-3)
Another outstanding performance from a Red Hawk starter as
Micah Gunter delivered in his 6.1 innings of brilliance allowing seven hits and three runs, fanning five Providence batters. Simpson's offense took a while to get going, but exploded for all 13 runs in the 5th through the 8th.

In yet another pitchers' dual, Simpson had the upper hand with
James Humphrey on bump as he continued his dominance picking up the victory in six innings of work only suffering one earned run and three hits and striking out eight Sea Beggar batters. The bullpen outings from
Daniel Hermosillo and
Alfred Souza IV combined for three shutout innings to keep Humphrey in line for the win. The Red Hawks scrapped together three runs relying on
Andrew Shaw,
Derick Kuhn, and
Nathan Minami to bring in the Simpson runs.
